Engaging Ocean Scientists
COSEE Florida fosters communication and interactions among scientists, educators and the public by the sponsorship of regional professional development workshops to help scientists broaden the impact of their research through improved communication and effective educational outreach.

Presentation Boot Camps: Workshops for ocean scientists focusing on planning and preparing presentations that communicate messages and scientific concepts more clearly and effectively to both scientific and general audiences

Engaging with the Public: COSEE Florida will help ocean scientists broaden the impact of their research by providing advice and guidance for scientists wishing to receive broader impacts coaching as well as opportunities to present ocean research at Water As Habitat community events.

Engaging with Educators: COSEE Florida will help ocean scientists improve the future of science education in Florida middle schools through its ocean science concentration for pre-service educators. By working with college students seeking a degree in science education, participating ocean scientists can serve as research mentors, lesson plan reviewers, and featured presenters at educator workshops.
