CSTAR: The scientific method in action

Picture
Karen Pick – Smithsonian Marine Station
Through conducting research on cyanobacteria, or blue-green algae, the scientific method was put into action and realized it’s a circular process, not linear. The results lead to more questions about the chemical compounds found in different species of cyanobacteria.  These new observations and hypotheses lead to new sets of questions starting the scientific method again.
Lesson Plan Components - The scientific method in action  (Target audience is middle school science students)
