The 2014 Research Experience for Per-Service Teachers (REPT) Program began on Monday May 12th at IRSC with all the interns and mentors gathering to meet. This is the fourth year of the program and we've partnered with 2 new schools, Edison State College and Broward College. We have 8 interns participating from the 3 Colleges and being mentored at one of 5 different institutions: Smithsonian Marine Station at Fort Pierce, Florida Organic Aquaculture, Florida Oceanographic Society, Oceanographic Center at Nova Southeastern University, and Sanibel Captiva Conservation Foundation. Each intern is partnered with a marine scientist to conduct a research project over the 7-week long program. The students will gain hands-on research experience, gain confidence to take what they've learned to the classroom and also learn new strategies and techniques to translate their experience to
students in the classroom. Read More About This Program. . .
