COSEE Florida will help ocean scientists broaden the impact of their research by providing advice and guidance for scientists wishing to receive broader impacts coaching as well as opportunities to present ocean research at Water As Habitat community events.

Engaging With Educators

COSEE Florida will help ocean scientists improve the future of science education in Florida middle schools through its ocean science concentration for pre-service educators where participating ocean scientists can serve as research mentors, and featured presenters at educator workshops. The center encourages scientists to communicate more effectively through film. Ocean Science Concept Recordings (OSCRs) and the Ocean 180 Video Challenge are designed for ocean scientists to share their discoveries and excitement for research with teachers, students, and the public.
